What is kept in your browser
Last updated 13 October 2026.
Podivm sets no cookies for advertising, and none for tracking you across other sites. There is no analytics script on any page, and no third party is given a profile of you to sell. That is why you have not been asked to dismiss a consent banner: there is nothing here for one to ask about.
Some things do have to be kept in your browser for the product to work at all. They are listed below, in full, because a page like this is only worth having if it is complete.
Stored on your device
- podivm.state.<your id> — your profile, your quiz answers, your baseline and every check-in. This is the practice history itself, and it is what makes the app remember you between visits. In the local demo it lives here and nowhere else.
- podivm-motion — one word,
off, and it exists only if you have turned animations off. Without it, nothing is written. - Your session — when Podivm is running against its real
database, the signed-in session is kept in browser storage under a key beginning
sb-. It is what keeps you signed in, and signing out removes it. - podivm.demo.accounts and podivm.demo.session — only on
localhost, where sign-in has no server behind it and the accounts live in the browser instead. Nothing is sent anywhere, and no email is sent.
None of this is a cookie and none of it is a device fingerprint. It can be cleared at any time from your browser’s own settings, and the account menu has Delete my progress if you would rather remove it from inside the product.
What leaves your device, and when
- Your recording does not. The video and audio of a take are measured on your machine and dropped when the page closes. What is saved is the numbers the measurement produced.
- Your words, if your browser transcribes them. Counting filler words needs a transcript, and the transcription is done by your browser’s own speech recognition, which sends the microphone audio to that browser’s speech service while you speak. Skip it and the word-level readings simply report as unmeasured rather than being guessed at.
- Requests to a few well-known hosts. The page loads its fonts from Google Fonts, the two body-language models are served from this site, and small pieces of runtime code come from jsDelivr. Any request of that kind necessarily shows the host your IP address, in the way every website does. There are no tracking parameters on them and nothing is stored as a result.
- The engine on this machine, if it is running. The helper that reads a take with the full pipeline is reached over loopback, so your recording is only ever sent to your own computer.
