What we measure, and where it goes
Last updated 13 October 2026. This page describes the product as it is built, not as it might be one day.
Podivm measures how you speak and how you look when you speak. That means a camera and a microphone, which deserves a plain answer rather than a policy. Here is the whole of it.
What happens on your device
When you record, your browser gives the page a video and audio stream. Everything below runs inside the tab you are looking at, on that stream:
- Body language. Two MediaPipe models — one for pose, one for face — read the video and measure posture, head orientation, fidgeting and gestures. The model files are served from this site, not downloaded from a third party.
- Voice. The recording is decoded and analysed in the tab: energy, pauses, pitch movement and where emphasis landed.
- Scoring. The trained model that turns those measurements into a score is a file of numbers loaded into the page and evaluated in it. No take is sent anywhere to be scored.
The recording itself is held in memory for the length of the session and is dropped when you close the page. We never receive your video or your audio.
The one thing that leaves your device
Counting words — which is what produces filler words, hedging and every substance reading — uses your browser’s own speech recognition, the same feature that powers voice search. While a take is recording, that feature sends the microphone audio to your browser maker’s speech service (Chrome and Edge: Google and Microsoft; Safari: Apple) and returns text. We do not control that, we cannot see it, and it is not something we can turn into an on-device measurement: the browser will not do it locally.
If you would rather not, use a browser without that feature or decline the microphone. The take still records, the camera half still measures, and the word-level bars are reported as not measured rather than filled in with a guess. The take screen says all of this before you press record.
What is stored, if you have an account
- Your email address, or the account identity from Google if you signed in with it.
- The name you type in your profile, the setting you chose, and how much time you have.
- The numbers each take produced: the score, the measurements, which of them were measured or unmeasured, and the coaching written from them.
- Which lessons you finished, your streak, and the medals you earned.
Not the recording. Not a transcript that we keep. Not your camera stream, ever.
The local demo build — the signed-in app running on localhost with no keys configured in
assets/config.js — stores all of the above in your own browser’s local
storage and sends nothing anywhere.
Cookies and local storage
One thing is kept in your browser: your signed-in session, so the app does not ask again on every page. There is no advertising on this site, no analytics script, and no third-party tracker. The pages do load a few things from other companies’ servers, and those servers see your IP address and the page you are on, as any web request does:
- Google Fonts, for the two typefaces the product is set in.
- A CDN (jsDelivr, with unpkg as a fallback) for the MediaPipe runtime, the code that runs the body and face models. The models themselves come from this site.
- Three.js from cdnjs, on the landing page only, for the animation in the walkthrough.
- Supabase, when accounts are switched on, because that is where your account and your numbers live.
Deleting things
Delete my progress in your profile wipes the stored document immediately: your baseline, every check-in, your lesson progress and your medals. To delete the account itself, email us from the address on the account and we will remove it, including anything in backups within thirty days. Export my data gives you everything we hold as a JSON file, before you delete it.
Who can see your data
You, and nobody else. The database enforces that per row rather than trusting the app to ask politely, so a bug in our own code cannot show one person another person’s practice. We do not sell anything, because there is nothing to sell: no scores, no recordings, no profiles.

Email privacy@trypodivm.app. If something here is unclear, that is a fault in the page rather than in your reading of it, and we would like to know.
